Call for proposal
Virus- och pandemifonden” – in collaboration other actors – have organized a fundraising campaign for research on virus-caused infections in children. The campaign collected 137 000 SEK. “Virus- och pandemifonden” raises another 67 000 SEK and is now announcing A one-year research grant of 200,000 SEK for research on virus-caused infections in children. Registration now open: 21st Smögen Summer Symposium on Virology
August 22-24, 2024. We are happy to also this year have excellent keynote speakers, including Mart Krupovic, Paris, the interface of microbiology, virology and evolution including archaeal virus diversity, Karl Ståhl, SVA, Uppsala, on epizootic diseases, including African Swine fever virus, Mattias Forsell, Umeå, on humoral immunity after vaccination or infections. Registration now open: National Research Course on Molecular Virology and Pathogenesis
in connection with the Smögen meeting, August 19-21, for PhD students and Postdoctoral fellows. The course includes lectures by senior Swedish and international researchers on important virus families and the diseases they cause. Pandemifonden Awards 2023
2023 years awardee of Pandemifonden’s Sigvard Olofsson Award is Dr Jiaxin Ling, Uppsala University, for her studies on evolution, virulence, and transmission of zoonotic RNA virus, and Pandemifonden’s prize to Dr Max Renner, Umeå University his studies on high-resolution structures of flavivirus and pneumovirus replication.
