The 32nd International Symposium on Hepatitis C virus, Flavivirus, and Related Viruses (HCV-Flavi 2026) will be held on 14-17 September 2026 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The meeting will feature the biology, immune responses, treatment and prevention of hepatitis C virus, flaviviruses, pestiviruses and related viruses. Position
Open call for the MIMS Clinical Research Fellowship (CRF) program 2026 aimed at early career clinicians. The fellowship provides early career clinicians with an opportunity to develop a research project in the broad area of infection medicine in collaboration with a basic researcher. They fellowship provides: -Salary contribution for 50% research time (upto 1.2 mio SEK) -Salary for a postdoc + associated costs (up to 2 mio SEK) -Access to MIMS and Nordic EMBL partnership network and activities.Last date to apply: Friday Jan 16, 2026. Travel grants
PhD students and postdocs are welcome to apply for the SSV travel grants. See how to apply under Member info. Applications for travel grants from SSV are now accepted during the autumn term, with deadline October 1. Decisions on travel grants are then taken by the board. Each award amounts to a maximum of 10.000 SEK.
Nominations to the Pandemifonden Awards.
The board welcomes nominations of candidates to the Pandemifonden Awards (Fenyö Prize and Olofsson Prize), which will be given by Virus- och pandemifonden – Svenska Sällskapet för Virologi, to up to two junior, talented virologists working at Swedish universities or hospitals, for the purpose of promoting virus research. For 2025, the award will be 100 000 SEK given to each awardee, see link
Grant Call for Project on Postinfectious Diseases
The “Virus- och pandemifonden” in collaboration with the “Svenska Covidföreningen, ME föreningen and föreningen för svårdiagnosticerade infektionssjukdomar” organized a fundraising campaign for post-covid research in the spring of 2025. The campaign collected 100,000 SEK, see link

Opportunities together with Young GfV for early career researchers
Young GfV regularly organizes workshopsfocused on specific scientific topics.
